Pink is the Word

Sex and the City 2 has finally arrived! I was one of the first in line for the midnight screening this very early morning. It was well worth it - lots of glam style, lots of laughs, and lots of fun. The movie also triggered many memories of the television series itself. One memory was of the color and glitz the show so proudly showcased in each and every episode. I particularly enjoyed, back in the day when the show was in its prime, the use of the color pink in the show's advertising campaigns and even in the show itself. In honor of the pink I so often noticed in the SATC series, I've pulled together a group of pink fashion-y items that I cannot resist:

Graham & Spencer Matte Silk Tank with Pailettes

Pink Jamie Jeans - Topshop

Rachel Leigh Neon Pop Gumball Ring

Women's Cynthia Vincent for Target® Studded Thong Sandals - Pink

Something Else Oversized Shirt Dress

Alexander McQueen News

The Wall Street Journal today reported that, "Gucci Group Thursday named a successor to deceased designer Alexander McQueen, choosing his deputy, Sarah Burton, as the label's new creative chief." It further reports that, "Ms. Burton, one of Mr. McQueen's closest friends, is a veteran of the fashion house. She joined in 1996, when the brand was still in its infancy. In 2000, the year Mr. McQueen sold a majority stake to Gucci Group, Ms. Burton was named head of women's wear."

Banana Collab!

I'm very excited to talk about another upcoming designer/store collaboration. The lovely Chan Luu will be showcasing her jeweler skills through a "limited edition collection of bracelets for Banana Republic." What's more is that these bracelets are lightweight, colorful, and perfect for the summer season.

A taste of what's in store!

This just in...

So, I just learned that one of my favorite "comfy" brands - Velvet by Graham and Spencer - is forming a collaboration with Uniqlo. Velvet makes the most beautiful and soft creations that I love to wear for work or play. This article explains that, "The Velvet collaboration with Uniqlo builds on the brand's heritage of contemporary t-shirts, offering a fresh approach to this wardrobe essential and featuring 14 unique items, ranging from the classic t-shirt through to camisoles, dresses and jersey harem pants." Let's take a look at Velvet's current offerings to get a clue as to what the Uniqlo collab may bring...

Hungry?

I sure am... for picnic tops! I am so thrilled that it's finally warm warm warm outside and I can throw on that checkered, button-down top that screams, "Spring has arrived!" Red-and-white check, blue-and-white check, and an abundance of other color combos, the picnic top is country, it's hipster, it's really anything you want it to be! (See below for Heritage 1981 options!)

Summer Sun's Calling For Shoes

The warm weather sorta came out of nowhere! And so I've found myself in dire need of some spring-into-summer shoes. My peep toe wedges from last year are all beaten up. I'm looking for something not to high, but not too low. Ideally - a shorter wedge with some attitude (professional with some personality). Here are some of my favorite options (all found on Piperlime.com -- one of my FAVE websites:

Nine West - $69

Bandolino - $69

Kenneth Cole Reaction - $79

Steve Madden - $79
