Tokyo Fashion Week

Tokyo Fashion Week is in full swing. Fierce styling, charming silhouettes, and clever colors; the designers really showed their stuff. (Photos from the Tokyo Fashion Week site.)

Kamishima Chinami really moved me with her use of both muted and bold colors, perfect textures, and special florals. The floral applique-seeming design on yellow sheer fabric is a favorite of mine. I also adore her peek-a-boo use of floral fabric.

Naoshi Sawayanagi's garments are like fruit of heaven. Simple and delicate. With such a perfectly limited color palette. The intensity of the makeup and hair styling juxtaposed to the lovely Spring/Summer 2013 line is perfection.

The Yukiko Hanai show is pure fantasy. Pretty ruffles, pastel lace, and other sweet added to dreamy confections -- the clothes were divine.

Apple + Bodhi collaboration

News flash!

"After 2 years of success selling Bodhi leather tech accessories, Apple merchants spoke to the brand about growing the collaboration to include an exclusive handbag. The Rosie Tote made for Apple by Bodhi coordinates perfectly with the sleek design of Apple products. Janus elaborated, 'We are very excited about our collaboration with Apple. Over the past few years we have worked very closely with their merchants on developing products that would be perfect for the Apple customer. This time it is no different. The Rosie Tote, an Apple exclusive by Bodhi, is where fashion meets function at its best.'"

See more information in this article.

"Hitting shelves this holiday season, the Rosie Tote retails for $299.95 and will be available in top tier flagship stores. The Apple team is very enthusiastic about collaborating with such a progressive fashion brand and feels that the Rosie Tote is the perfect example of fashion and function, a concept that Apple believes in strongly. The Rosie Tote will be a convenient and stylish accessory with organized compartments that comfortably fit a Macbook, iPad, and iPhone. It is the must-have accessory for any Apple enthusiast allowing all of your products to be conveniently available at your fingertips."

"Rosie Tote can hold up to a 15" Macbook Pro or Macbook Air. It has a separate front compartment for the ipad or ipad case and an additional pocket for the IPHONE 5."

Reitmans meets Martin Lim

Canadian retailer, Reitmans, is about to embark on a fabulous collaboration with the "husband-wife team" of Martin Lim (see this article). Reitmans, the "largest women's specialty retailer" in Canada, sells "affordable stylish fashions that are designed to fit everybody and every body." On the other side, the Martin Lim brand prides itself on cultural "fusion" -- the meeting of "two cultures, two worlds, but mainly the fusion of two designers who proved themselves on a national and international level." And so the merger of Reitmans and Martin Lim -- two highly successful Canadian fashion forces -- is definitely worth celebrating. Let's take a look:

Refinery29 + DKNY = Fab Collab!

As further discussed in this article, it appears that the oh-so-cool site Refinery29 and the fabulous DKNY line are joining forces! The two will be creating "a line of chic and trendy handbags." The bold prints on and dynamic structure of these bags yields such a striking result. I just love seeing two creative teams successfully unite!

House of Harlow for GOOP

Per this article, "Nicole Richie has created a handbag for Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP Collection, with the clutch retailing at $225." I visited Gwynny's GOOP website to take a look at this creation. It's actually quite stunning. See for yourself:

I didn't realize GOOP was playing the collaboration game! Here are some other items available on the GOOP online shop, that I adore:
